Shadow and banded eagle KD1 spent Sunday morning moving through Big Bear before sharing the Twin Pines and exchanging vocals. Then the rain started, while questions swirled about what KD1’s continued presence really means.
Luna returned to Jackie and Shadow’s Big Bear nest for the first time since fledging, while Sandy’s strong flight from the rocks offered a reassuring sign that she is moving forward.
Sandy returned to the Big Bear eagle nest after her accidental fledge, reuniting with Luna as Shadow delivered fish and the young eagles settled back into nest life.
Shadow kept the fish coming at Big Bear until Sandy and Luna had full crops, heavy eyelids and no choice but to sleep it off.
